Tonya Donald, Executive Director

Tonya Donald is a 1992 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Health Related Professions with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She has over 27 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in the Madison County area. She has a heartfelt passion for the seniors that she serves. In August of 2018, Tonya identified a need in this community for an affordable option to provide care to seniors who are still living independently but require an additional level of care and to those who are not safe to be left alone during the day. She researched Adult Day Care and immediately knew that this was the answer she had been looking for.
She joined the National Adult Day Service Association, attended the national conference in Baltimore, Maryland, and the rest is history. Tonya is married and is the mother of three children. The Abigayle Adult Day Care is her passion and her dream and is named for her daughter, Abigayle.

The Abigayle provides loving and quality care for seniors with Alzheimers, other dementias, and physical limitations. We have one ever-present goal in mind: keeping participants active and independent to maximize their quality of life.

Program assistant responsibilities include: leading exercises / managing arts + crafts / providing assistance with feeding, restrooms, mobility as needed / light housekeeping - sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restrooms, organizing, etc. / supporting group activities
